Coming off of consecutive District Championships, my expectations for this team
are higher than ever. We return 5 girls from last years varsity team and received
some talented transfers. Needless to say, this team will be expected to go far this
year. This promises to be an exciting and fun team to watch.
Once again Leon Galan will be the Assistant Head Coach. He has worked hard
this offseason with conditioning and open gyms getting girls ready for this
season. In addition to Coach Galan, Dr. Robert Cannon (Coach Rob) will be a full
time varsity assistant coach. Coach Rob has work hard with preseason
conditioning and weight lifting.
This year we will have a new JV Coaching staff. Andrew Ziccardi will be replacing
Sue Jenicek as the JV Head Coach. He will also have an assistant with Coach
Alyssa Garcia. Coach Ziccardi will continue the winning tradition of our JV
program.
As always, I ask parents to be supportive of their daughters and the team, and
please, let the referees do their job and the coach's, coach. I demand that we
play hard regardless of the score or opponent. I also stress sportsmanship, and
respect to the game, opponents and officials. I want our teams to represent
themselves and the school with dignity and class. As a parent please support
these values.
On away games the teams will travel together by bus to these games. The girls
may go home with their parents only after the coaches have been notified. All
others will return on the bus to the school. I attached directions to all away
opponents. On all game days we will have a pre-game meal.
I would also like to thank all the parents who unselfishly give their time being
involved with this program. Again, we will need parents to assist with fundraising,
coordinating booster club functions, planning awards banquets, team meals,
phone calls, and other activities needed to make teams function to the best of
their ability.
